Look at a hiring tool that quietly filters out resumes, or a hospital triage system ranking patients. The people affected rarely get a clear reason, and the people overseeing it often can't explain the decision either. My opponent says we become the thinking, directing brain, which sounds good in theory. But directing something you can't fully inspect is more like giving orders through a closed door. If the system is opaque, accountability evaporates, and the people left holding the consequences are ordinary folks. That's why I'm still against treating AI as a safe default.
