Abortion is immoral. Why? Well most to every society agrees murder is wrong in some fashion, and though majority does not always equal something being morally correct I would argue that in this case murder being wrong has been something that has been accepted for centuries. The reason abortion is murder is that you are intentionally ending human life. Murder intentionally ends innocent human life and abortion is ending the life of a human who is very innocent in the womb. They are innocent in the same way you don't see people prosecuting babies who accidentally hit their parents. By pure facts the person in the womb is 1. A human, 2. Alive from conception, and 3. Developing.

I think the other side gets wrong how messy these situations can be. Saying it is always immoral feels too absolute to me, since someone facing a hard pregnancy may have real reasons, and I do not see why the choice should be taken away. That is just my gut feeling, though.

Take a pregnancy where the fetus cannot survive outside the womb and the mother is in danger; calling that immoral still feels wrong to me. My opponent makes a fair point about protecting life, and I am not sure how to argue back, but a blanket rule just seems too harsh.

Why does it seem harsh? Answer me this: Is it reasonable to kill a child say 6-8 years old if the mother is suffering say from abuse from their partner or financially? If so, why, or if not, why not?
