College athletes do not deserve a direct share of the revenue they help generate, as it would become a difficult topic amongst the players. In a sport, especially when part of a school system, the idea is to prepare for the future, not to make money. Players would be working with a force that could hinder team play, if they knew someone were to make more than them. Moreover, it would be easy to calculate the amount each player would receive, because who is to determine that and in case the sport makes no profit or even losses, would players be expected to cover that?

Considering that college athletes are the reason some athletic teams make the revenue they make, it should be valid for them to receive a portion of the revenue. By not giving them atleast a portion, the athletics field would be like a gamble and an investment on people, thus treating them as less than people. These are the individuals who might make millions down the line, and yet they still don't get a share of the work and talent they put in? It simply wouldn't be fair.

Although schools are ment to be ccenter around education, universities at the end of the day are investments. They accept who they think will give me a stronger image and part of that is through athletes. Moreover, these individuals are adults, so there are no issues with the universities acting as employers. Likewise, because they are adults they should be partially compensated. As my opponent mentioned some schools make losses, but in that case the athletes simply wouldn't get an extra bonus. The idea behind any job is that when the team succeeds you succeed, so when the school make an aboundance of fame and wealth from a team, that team should be compenstated in more ways than ust a full ride.
