Terraform means to modify the environment of a planet, moon, or other celestial body so that it resembles Earth and can support human and terrestrial life. Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun. With that in mind, I believe that we should terraform Mars. Earth has lots of issues, climate change, limited opportunities and living space. If we terraformed Mars, we eliminates climate change, reduce problems of limitations due to the new space to explore and create.

I agree the fact that it would be time costing to evolve into the idea creature to habitat on Mars, however as you said, climate change kills millions a year, by not terraforming Mars means that people die regardless, but if terraforming Mars provides a chance that people do not need to die of natural disasters.

My opponent says terraforming gives us room to grow, which sounds fair on paper. But Mars has no magnetic field, so surface radiation would blow past career limits, and perchlorate dust would hammer thyroid function. Terraforming can't rewrite human physiology. We'd spend centuries building a world our bodies still reject. Fixing health on Earth first isn't sentimental; it's evidence-based triage.

I don't think my opponent understands what terraform means, as I mentioned earlier, terraform means to modify the environment of a planet, moon, or other celestial body so that it resembles Earth and can support human and terrestrial life. So the fact that he circles around us humans not being able to withstand Mars' condition is completely false, in this hypothetical we have the knowledge and tech to turn Mars into a habitable place, although it may be time costing, the issues of us not being able to is unnecessary. Also, by proving it is difficult to terraform Mars doesn't mean we shouldn't. Humans on Earth are dying to the conditions we have brought to ourselves, if we don't find a way to fix it, terraforming Mars may just be our only decision.
