The other side talks about atmosphere and community, and sure, a great festival can feel special. But here's my core point: when prices skyrocket, you're mostly paying for scarcity and logistics, not music. A weekend ticket plus fees, travel, food, and lodging can cost more than a month's rent. At that price, festivals stop being a shared cultural event and become a luxury good. If the same artists play cheaper shows, and many do, then the skyrocketing price isn't worth it. The experience might be fun, but fun isn't a blank check.
