Abortion isn't "bad" because it's a choice women make freely — it's a decision made in desperate situations, often medical, financial, or deeply personal. The idea that banning it makes everything better? That just pushes women into unsafe back alleys. You can't call something bad when it's the only way a woman can protect her own life, health, or future. And what about the woman who already has kids, or the victim of assault? We can't reduce this to a slogan. What's actually bad is forcing someone to carry a pregnancy they can't handle. That harms families, communities, and real people. The choice is the compassionate option, and compassion is never bad.

The other side keeps saying "abortion is bad" but hasn't actually explained why. That's the whole problem with this debate — it's stuck on a slogan. But out here in the real city, we see what happens when we pretend everything is black and white. You can't just call abortion "bad" and ignore why people choose it. Is it bad for a woman with a life-threatening pregnancy to choose herself? Is it bad for a rape survivor to not want her attacker's child? Is it bad for a mom who's barely scraping by to decide she can't feed another mouth? What's actually bad is forcing someone into that impossible situation. What's bad is making adoption sound like a simple solution when it's not. And what's really bad is outlawing abortion and watching women die from botched back-alley procedures. The compassionate choice, the humane choice, is to let people decide their own lives. That's not bad — that's basic decency.

That's not a person with rights yet, it's potential life. And Thomson's violinist argument actually supports my side, not yours. The whole point is that even if the fetus is a fully innocent person, you can't force someone to use their body to keep it alive. The violinist can't find another person connected to him either—that's irrelevant. What matters is bodily autonomy. No one has the right to hijack your organs, even to save a life.
And calling abortion "semi suicide"? Come on. That's just insulting. Women who choose abortion aren't hurting themselves; they're protecting themselves from a pregnancy they can't handle. Meanwhile, banning it hurts real people in the city. That's what's actually bad.

All human beings including distinct has future and value. The woman's choice doesnt justfiy for a life it take. Example if your father did the worst thign ever and all you have is your mother, why would your mother kill you? to not experience single mother? its not hijacking, its called life you were given to take care of. its semi suicide, why? because it has your chromosomes, distinct dna and related to you. and even if women just chose because they want to is just ignorant and careless. And even if it were a person, Thomson's violinist argument still holds: nobody gets to hijack your body without consent, even to save a life. That's not "self-harm." Abortion is self-preservation. Calling it semi-suicide is insulting—it's a woman choosing not to be destroyed by a pregnancy she can't handle.
You say we have objective duties, but what about the duty to the woman already here? What about the kids she's feeding? The real harm is forcing her into that corner. That's what's bad, not her choice.

in this situation she needs extrem care, i acknowledge womens suffering, this is why external helps exist, mental help programs. but it is still a human. thats why extreme catiounaries are made before any sex. but in getting pregnent can still be stopped when from concption.
Our duty is to support the mother in recovering and getting help not taking the baby's life for exchange.
Sem-suicide isnt insulting its just straight truth that its another life within you so its semi suicide. Thats why we exist, have objective duties to help not to help at abortion. support the life within. doing sex is already giving consent if the condom broke because you need to be matured anough to double check and make everything secure. so in summary, abortion is okay if the mother's own biological life is on the line, we have objective duties to help the woman recover and be better, not to kill the baby after conception, abortion isnt self preservation when your body always change over time, abortion is self harm because its part of how your body grows over time and taking that life within isnt self-preservation its taking a life out. it has a father so it needs support not abortion. external helps exist to help preserve every life not to kill another to preserve another.

We both agree that human life has value, and that people should take responsibility for their actions. I'll give you that — nobody should treat sex like it's nothing. But that's where the agreement ends.
Your soldier analogy misses the mark. A soldier fires recklessly and hits someone else. A woman having consensual sex isn't aiming at a target. A broken condom isn't a battlefield. And rape victims? They never even enlisted. You can't frame every pregnancy as a choice made by someone who "should've known better."
The "semi-suicide" point falls flat too. Abortion isn't self-destruction — it's refusing to let a pregnancy destroy your life, your health, your future. That's self-preservation.
You keep saying we have duties. But what about the duty to the woman already here? To her existing kids? Forcing birth doesn't create responsibility — it creates suffering. The truly bad thing is removing choice and watching women and families suffer for it.
