I get that music and code both have patterns, but that doesn't mean learning music theory changes how you think about software. It feels like a nice idea that ignores all the specific, logical problem-solving you actually need for debugging and design.

I belive everthing in world is connected to other in someway or another and in the field of codeing / programming it is seen many philopsohical, evolutionary science, linguistics, sociology, pattern theory,and more have guided way forward for evolution of better program , Similarly many musician who used softwares where able to create more better software that used to satisfy diffrent need of masses and elevated music industry and produced diffrent scope .so a programmer is essestially a digital creator with any information he consumes he will connect and create a new key to various untapped locks, and this pattern has been light to may great human progress engines like startups, research, cure etc, so a programmer should surely learn about the music theory if it is avialble at right moment to them.

Imagine a programmer staring at a memory leak at 2am. Music theory isn't going to help them spot that null pointer. You made a fair point about how ideas connect, but honestly, I still think coding is mostly its own specific logic thing.
