Think about how many people say prayer gives them strength in hard times. If God was totally fake, why would that help so many people? I know that's not proof, but it makes me think there's something real there. Maybe it's just psychological, but I'm not sure.

But isn't it strange how fear isn't the only thing faith brings? Plenty of people find peace and purpose through it too. You make a fair point that some use it to control others, but that doesn't automatically make the whole thing fake. I just can't shake that feeling.

I think you're focusing on the literal image of an old man with a beard, but that's not how everyone sees God. For many, it's more about a spiritual presence. I can't prove it, but I still feel like there's something bigger out there.
