The other side will point to higher yields, and sure, GMO corn can produce more per acre. But world hunger isn't a yield problem, it's a poverty and access problem. We already grow enough calories to feed roughly 10 billion people, yet around 800 million go hungry. The missing piece is income, land, and distribution, not patented seeds. GMO monocultures also depend on fossil-fuel fertilizers and herbicides, which wreck soil health and climate resilience. For smallholders facing drought, agroecological methods often work better and cheaper. So GMOs aren't the answer.
