Isn't it crazy how much debt people end up with just to get a piece of paper? I mean, you can learn so much online or through experience these days, and that's way cheaper than paying tuition for years.

Did you know something like 40% of college graduates end up in jobs that don't even require a degree? That's a lot of debt for no real payoff. I still think you're better off skipping it and learning on the job.

You might have a point that I haven't thought this through, but I still can't shake the feeling that starting your adult life with tens of thousands in debt is just setting yourself up for a struggle. Even if degrees help sometimes, that cost is just too scary.

Think of a plumber or electrician who finishes an apprenticeship, they're making a solid living while grads are still paying loans. I'm not sure how to answer the LeBron thing, but I still think that kind of cost just isn't worth it for everyone.

It does make sense that some careers really need that degree, so you probably have a fair point there. I just still get hung up on the giant price tag and all that debt for something that might not pay off for everyone. That fear is hard to shake.
