The danger argument assumes open borders means zero vetting. That's a strawman. Open borders means removing artificial quotas, not abandoning security checks. We already screen travelers, run background checks, and deny entry to criminals. We keep those systems, but we let people move where their labor is needed without waiting years for a visa.
And look at what the current system actually produces: a massive illegal market, smuggling networks, and people dying in deserts. That's reckless and dangerous. Closed borders don't stop movement, they just make it unregulated. We've engineered a system where we can't see who's coming because they're forced to come through the shadows.
Meanwhile, we have critical shortages in healthcare, agriculture, and construction. Open borders would fill those gaps legally, with proper documentation and oversight. Security is a legitimate concern, but the solution is better verification, not keeping walls that fail anyway.
