Look, I get where the frustration comes from. Some loud voices on the left absolutely go overboard with the cancel culture stuff or the identity politics that feels more like a purity test than a real movement. That part is legitimately annoying. But calling the whole left an embarrassment? That's like judging a whole country by its worst tourists.
I've lived in four countries across three continents. What I see is that left-wing movements internationally are actually doing the hard work—fighting for healthcare access in Brazil, climate justice in Bangladesh, workers' rights in Germany. The American online left might be cringey sometimes, but that's a tiny slice of a massive global effort. Reducing the left to Twitter meltdowns ignores the millions quietly organizing for housing, wages, and human dignity. That's not embarrassing. That's what democracy looks like when it's messy and real.

yo, what's going on, dude? yeah I agree I think when it comes to like economics like I'm obviously I was a democrat, obviously more progressive but I also find the rhetoric very dangerous on the left and it's kind of putting me off a little bit for example when that guy like they killed that CEO, I didn't like that I don't think that's I mean if you don't like the system, you know obviously the system sucks. I work in healthcare of Masters and healthcare management I know how corrupt healthcare system is and trust me. It goes even deeper than that right now there's a big story. I don't even talk about which it didn't say it to me. It's insane to me. I'm Saying, but you know what the left should be talking out on this topic which I'm sorry that I'm talking about I don't know how to get to it. It has to do with healthcare. It's with data privacy and AI companies putting in billions of dollars to get the last resource of data that hasn't been harvested yet harvested yet and it's the most expensive data. It is the date of life. It's your whole medical record. It's your psychological profile. It's your every time you took a dump anytime you like it. It's if they have a data. They are predicting ads right now advertisement right now like I feel like I'm the only one in my field talking out on this cause it's it's all it is. It's a way to just get the data because it's there's no benefit of having AI in the healthcare system. There hasn't been any any studies that proven that it's helpful but that's not. I'm sure we're on the same side on that.

I was actually in Jakarta last year during the election protests, watching left-leaning activists risk real jail time to defend democratic institutions. Meanwhile, back home, I see people calling the left an embarrassment because some college kid on TikTok used the wrong pronoun. Come on.
Wolfcrusader, you mentioned the frustration about cancel culture and purity tests. Fair enough. Those exist. But they're not the left. They're a loud, often young, chronically online subset. The actual left is the one fighting for paid family leave, unionizing Amazon warehouses, and pushing for climate action that'll actually keep our planet livable.
Reducing an entire political movement to its most cringey online moments is like judging all Christians by the Westboro Baptist Church. It's lazy. The left has problems, sure. But embarrassment? That's what I'd call the people who can't see the forest for the tweet.
