A 2023 Pew survey found 52 percent of Americans are more concerned than excited about AI, which is itself a humility signal: we know something powerful exceeds our understanding. AI is good for humility because it constantly confronts us with the limits of our own knowledge. When a model can draft, summarize, or code in seconds, it becomes harder to pretend expertise is self-made. That discomfort is productive. It pushes people to ask better questions, check sources, and say I do not know. My opponent may argue AI breeds overconfidence, but the tool exposes ignorance more often than it hides it.
