Turns out a lot of people rewatch their concert clips way more than they remember the night itself. So banning phones feels like taking away the one thing that keeps the memory alive. My opponent might disagree, but that is just how I feel.
yes, phones should be banned during concerts.. Most people are nowadays concerned about showing others what they are experiencing more than experiencing the same thing themselves.. Also, when people try to record videos, it disturbs and abrupts the view of the people behind them.. Some people think it's common and normal to do so, but that are not good manners.. Moreover, there are cameramen provided by the artists themselves who record some shorts of the function.. As for the vibe part, it's much more fun to experience it through your eyes rather than seeing it through a CAMERA

To me the real issue is who owns the night, the crowd or the rules. My opponent makes a fair point about blocked views, and I am not sure how to argue back. Still, phones are how someone relives it later, so a ban feels too strict.
it's true that people revisit nights, but what about the surreal moment which u feel when u are in that crowd itself.. if someones view gets blocked during their favourite song, there is no video which can make him relive it again.. U can just listen to the same song or its concert version online feeling yourself standing in the crowd, as I think visualization will work much better to relive that night again rather than seeing a bunch of shooted videos

At a big arena show, hundreds of tiny screens light up, and those clips end up being how people revisit the night. My opponent is fair that a blocked view is worse, and I cannot really argue that. Still, taking phones just feels wrong to me.
i agree with the clips being revisited.. but the tradeoff between lost experience and revisiting an experience, it would make more sense to save the first one.. It's normalised to bring in phones now, which would make it weird to not bring them at first.. but later on,they would enjoy concerts more than they do now, as they only have to please themselves...
