Look at what happened in Goa. They've had a uniform civil code since Portuguese times, and guess what? The world didn't end. Hindus, Muslims, Christians all live there, marry under the same laws, and nobody's culture got destroyed. In fact, it's one of the most peaceful states in India.
The argument that a UCC will trample minority rights just doesn't hold up when you see it working. Goa proves we can have equal laws without wiping out traditions. The real problem is that we're letting religious laws decide things like divorce, inheritance, and custody. That's not respecting diversity—that's creating a system where a Muslim woman can't get the same alimony as a Hindu one. That's just unfair.
If Goa can do it, why can't the rest of India? We're not talking about abolishing religion. We're talking about making sure the law treats everyone the same. That's basic justice.
