Felons should not be able to keep voting. For three reason, the disrespect of listening to the rules, the potential risk of encouraging a criminal to be the president, and the distrust of a felon. I would like to start with my first point which to be a felon requires breaking the law and giving yourself a prison sentence over a year that shows that felonies don’t care about rules or laws and if that’s the case why would we give them a chance to vote they could easily break the rule of voting twice and commit more crimes to vote more which leads to my second point the encouragement of letting another felon be a new leader by votes. With distrust in following rules how are we certain they won’t skeme to ensure a felon is voted. Which leads to my third point. How can we trust them again when we get a job they do background checks to make sure ur qualified for a job if u have a criminal record you don’t get the job which is the consequences of your actions when breaking the rules besides just prison. Losing the ability to vote should be included to show how distrustful felons can be as they can continue their criminal activities or live in regret when they have been educated on to never break rules as they will ruin your life and yet they did it anyways. It should show more of a shame to have a felon record then “oh I have limited jobs oh well I’ll still be able to find a job” that is my why on why I disagree

That’s just forgiving the felons too easily and not every felon should be forgiven. If some felons want to make up and own up to their mistakes they can file a change of heart to court and let the judge decide if they earned the right to vote again by doing community services and active change. Votings isn’t the only way to prove yourself to the community to join such as what I said before community services. And holding them accountable by not allowing them to vote gives them a reflection to either continue with distrust or proving yourself wanna change so just allowing them to keep voting is unfair when you are limited to jobs with ur crimes mentioned.

Voting is a prize for voting especially in women it is a privilege to be able to vote but it is also a consequence to those who devalued their own privileges to go agasint the rules. And the distrust argument is a good thing to consider because we never know when someone is actually acting and lying to gain trust only to obliterate it like they did when not following by the rules. You wouldn’t some one who keeps lying abt everything. You wouldn’t play with some one in a game if they don’t play by the rules. So we won’t allow some one who won’t play by the rules and we won’t play with some one who could pretend when it comes down to voting until proven they earned that right and privileges again by the court and community services.
