Here's my sticking point: if God is real and all good, and also powerful enough to matter, then the amount of pointless suffering is a serious problem. Free will explains some choices, but not childhood cancer or earthquakes. I'll happily grant that love, beauty, and kindness are real and wonderful. But an all good God could presumably make a world with free creatures and far less agony. So the claim as stated asks us to believe something the evidence doesn't support. That's why I'm against.
