The case for soccer usually leans on athleticism and audience numbers, but I think that mistakes intensity for meaning. An actor's job is to become anyone, to make an audience feel another person's grief or joy from nothing but craft. A footballer perfects one physical skill inside fixed rules, while an actor must master voice, breath, body, and psychology at once, often speaking someone else's words. And acting endures. A great performance can reach strangers hundreds of years later, while even a famous goal lives on mainly as a clip. Soccer is brilliant spectacle, but acting is how we rehearse being human.
