First, define terms. Doomed means open source loses its ability to attract contributors, produce reliable code, and sustain itself. Under that framework, the other side's case fails. AI agents don't replace the reasons open source exists: transparent code, shared standards, and collective review. In fact, agents make those things more valuable, because autonomous systems need auditable licenses, reproducible builds, and open protocols. And agents are themselves trained, run, and improved on open stacks. The model may change, but change isn't doom. So the other side is describing evolution, not collapse.
