The other side gets it wrong by acting like Irish support for Palestine is some fringe thing. A lot of people here just see a similar history and feel a gut connection. I am not sure how to prove it, but that is my feeling.

The practical thing is Ireland speaking up keeps pressure on for aid and a ceasefire, which matters more than labels. My opponent makes a fair point about Hamas hiding among civilians, and I am not sure how to argue that. I still just feel supporting Palestinians is the right instinct.

ok well thats not an argument you dont debate on feelings. ireland has been inluenced by a mix of far leftists and far right islamics, They are the loud minority making it unacceptable to support israel the morally right country in ireland and its sad to see the government recognised the state after hamas started the war
