Hey, abortion should be legalized because - those lives don't have past or present consciousness, just as sperm do, and it wouldn't hurt them and they would have no ability to be aware of it. On top of that, it could harm the baby to be born into an environment where someone isn't ready to take care of a baby.

abortion does remove the chance for an amazing life. That is a possibility. It also removes the chance for a horrific life. using an emotional argument doesn't prove you right. Taking care of a baby is a mothers duty, if they have the child. While i think it is unethical to take away the possibility of an amazing life, i could say the same about having a hjorrible life. You also didn't respond to any other points of the argument. Most abortionms happen from low class, irresponsib le parents, which means that the baby would also most likely not have an "amazing life".

My opinion is based off of reasoning. You gave no reasoning for yours. I agree that parents should be responsible for sex. I think there should be better access to contraceptives and sex ed. Abortion does not give the idea that parents can be irresponsible. The abortion is the consequence. I don't think it is fair that one bad desicion, that it unprotected sex, has to lead to a life of taking care of a child. It basically destroys the life of the parent who isn't ready for a child. It's too much for one victimless mistake (victimless because the baby doesn't feel anything nor knows whats happening). Abortions cost hundreds to thousands of dollars and are very uncomfortable for the parent. Also, adoption doesn't just automatically mean that the baby would have a better chance of life. Children put up for adoption might spend years in foster care and very often have worse lives.

Well, it's first not ending a life. It's preventing a life, which are morally two different things. I agree with you that these systems should exist, but the question you still haven't answered is that if there is a solution to unwanted pregnancy, why not use it; tell me why it's unethical without giving me an opinion. I can tell you why I think it's acceptable, but you've only used emotional appeal to back up your claim that "human life deserves rights." I think there is a difference between a human that can live on its own, and a human who cant e.g braindead patients or zygotes. That's why braindead patients are commonly removed from life support. They also have past memories and consciousness, and an effect on the world, but they are removed from life support, whereas a fetus hasn't made an effect, has no memories, no consciousness, no awareness, and all you are doing is removing the possibility of life without affecting it.
