College athletes should be paid because it provides a means for them to take care of themselves without using the money of their parents as inflation is on the rise and college fees is at an extreme high paying college athletes could pave a way into making their college life easier moreover it teaches them to handle money at an early age which could be very beneficial in the future

Doesn't paying college athletes kind of turn school sports into just another job? I get they bring in money, but I still feel like college is supposed to be about playing for your school. I don't know, it just seems like it would change everything.

Take a smaller college where football barely makes money, paying players there just isn't realistic. Zyphor makes a fair point about costs, and honestly I'm not sure how to argue back. I still just feel like school sports should stay school sports.

The fees paid to the athlete depends on the size of the college if it makes less money the players get paid less because the fees of smaller universities will inherently be a lesser amount. Keeping school sports as just school sports is an outdated ideal and these benefits will only provide the best for the students

Something surprising is that most college sports programs actually lose money. Zyphor's point about helping players with costs is fair, and I'm not sure how to argue back. I still just feel paying everyone would be unrealistic and school sports should stay school sports.
