Murder is the deliberate, unlawful killing of a human being. Abortion deliberately terminates an unborn baby. A lot of people argue that a fetus or an embryo is not a human being, but from my point of view life begins at conception and a fetus or an embryo is a stage of development and they should have the same rights as more developed humans.

I have a few points to make in response to this. Firstly, people don’t just get pregnant. We can talk about rape if you want, but the only instance where abortion should be allowed is for incest because it ruins the next generation. Secondly, while bodily autonomy is an important right, the right to life held by the baby in the womb outweighs this. It is hard for the mother but it doesn’t mean she should be able to murder the innocent baby.

Just because the baby may have a hard life doesn’t mean we should kill it. The mother should take responsibility rather than killing the baby. Murder is unjust no matter the circumstances so banning abortion isn’t harsh at all.
