Editing human embryos shouldnt be allowed. If we were to edit human embryos like we do with animals such as horses or sheep or cows, then we could clone humans, and in theory it sounds fun but it can and will be used in the wrong ways. You could make clones and make it do crimes when it grows up or you could make clones and have the two of the same person living at the same time and who are of different ages, this could cause alot of trouble in identifying them and it would cause trouble in general for example schools banks passports immigrations you name it. Also there is a moral factor to be considered here. It is even okay to edit embryos? What if the human that was going to be born before the editing was going to be a better person, and even if they werent every person has a right to live

But let's say a child with a defect was going to be born, or a child with a serious health issue was going to be born, editing that embryo so that the child doesn't suffer in life is the most logical thing to do, because if you have a way to make someone's life normal, why wouldn't you? And it would benefit society, as there would be more people who are fully capable of doing things, and it would benefit the parents and spare them from a life of misery, as if their child were to have a serious issue, they'd have to take care of their child for the entirety of their lives

Well, there's already a line between the privileged and the underprivileged. The people who can pick the things for their babies would obvious pick the ones that would help the babies in their life so the babies future wont be harmed, and the ones that cant afford upgrades, well their babies will be normal, but theres nothing you or i can do about it since if a kid was born into a rich family he/she would eat nicer foods have nicer places to stay in and would have less stress so by nature theyd be better looking better dressed and more educated than the underprivileged kids of our society so the line that youre afraid of creating already exists. So I think we should focus on the good benefits it has, and it can be used to save a lot of lives since many kids may have defects, but editing the embryo will get rid of them.
