Should voting be lowered to 16. I think yes, but with some limits and boundaries in how it is done

Picture a sixteen-year-old facing tax and budget ballot questions they have never dealt with; it feels like deciding before learning the basics. I just think 18 makes more sense since that is when other adult responsibilities begin, though the other side may have a fair point about engagement.

That’s a good beginning argument, but if we think to reality, how many 16 year olds would be paying enough tax to impact their life? In relation too what they would vote for would be restricted more to topics like freedom of speech, envirromental issues eccetera. I also firmly believe before allowing every 16 year olds old to make a poltical denison that shapes their next 3 years, they should take a test or a quiz to determine the level of maturity and intelligence before making a big choice.

I myself am under 18 but I firmly have reason to think that if tomorrow we had to take a quiz to test our maturity and we had to vote, i know i would make the exact right choice in who i would want to be in control of my country. I have done my fair share of researching major politcal parties in australia and have drawn to the conclusion that The Greens hold a lot of values that would make me feel a lot safer being a young female.
