Editing human embryos should be allowed because there is a large chance that we can make geniuses by editing and push the limits of everything we could ever do. The possibilities are infinite - we could invent futuristic could transport, space bases, ...

I get that editing embryos could prevent terrible diseases, and that sounds good on paper. But it feels like we're messing with something really fundamental, like deciding what a person should be. I'm just not comfortable with that line being crossed.

Judje, as you can see, my opponent just admitted that there could be a bright future. Also, there single point has no logic, as it is only a feeling and a personal opinion that it feels bad. my opponent has no proof that crossing with something fundamental has no impact.

Did you know that in most embryo editing experiments, fewer than one in ten edited embryos even survive to birth? That scares me. You make a fair point about the possibilities, but all that failure feels like a huge price to pay for a maybe.

You make a fair point about all the amazing things we could learn. I still worry that editing embryos means some people get to choose what's normal or better, and that feels dangerous to me. I can't back that up with science, but it's how I see it.
