Look, imagine we're standing at the base of two mountains. One's the ocean — deep, dark, and we've barely scratched its surface. The other's space — towering above everything, with views that could reshape how we see our whole planet. I'm not saying the ocean isn't important. It is. But space exploration gives us a vantage point we can't get anywhere else.
From space, we monitor climate patterns, track deforestation, predict weather disasters. We can't do that from the ocean floor. Plus, space tech has given us GPS, satellite communications, even memory foam. The ocean's given us fish and some cool deep-sea creatures. Not exactly a fair trade.
I get the appeal of exploring our own backyard. But we're talking about prioritizing — where do we put our limited resources? Space opens doors to new resources, planetary defense, and a future beyond Earth. The ocean will still be here. Space won't wait.
