LogicLord's main mistake is treating lobbying as the only information channel. A company can absolutely submit technical analysis through public hearings, comment periods, and agency consultations. The SOPA fight had a good outcome, sure, but that doesn't mean the paid-access version is the right vehicle. And barring only tech isn't arbitrary. Tech companies occupy a unique position: they control infrastructure, collect vast data, and have near-unlimited budgets. That's not a normal player in the market, that's a structural power imbalance. If we can't cap all lobbying today, then starting with the most concentrated sector is a reasonable step, not discrimination.
