The strongest reason to keep AI-generated songs off streaming platforms is that it floods the space with content that wasn't earned. Streaming already pays artists pennies per stream. If platforms get filled with infinite AI tracks, real musicians get buried under an avalanche of algorithm-generated noise. That's not just a market problem, it's a fairness problem. From a utilitarian view, the net harm to human creators outweighs any convenience for listeners. And deontologically, it's wrong to profit from art without the intent, struggle, and labor that make art meaningful. Sure, AI can mimic a style, but it can't have a reason to sing. I get the appeal of endless new music, and maybe there's room for AI in experimental spaces. But on mainstream streaming platforms, where discovery and income already feel rigged against actual artists, letting machines compete on the same field is just not right.
