Is something that shatters under a light tap and brings entire cities to a standstill really good for anyone? Look at what ice actually does: it bursts pipes, snaps power lines, breaks bones underfoot. That's not robustness, that's the opposite. We admire ice for a cold drink, but in any real system it's a stressor, pure fragility waiting to happen. If something needs salt, sand, and plows to make it tolerable, it isn't good for us. It's a hazard we've learned to work around, not a benefit we should celebrate.
