Remote work is better at maintaining the work life balance in a survey conducted it was concluded that the remote work gave people a sense of autonomy on their lives
I get why remote sounds nice, no commute and all. But I still lean toward the office, since it just seems easier to ask someone a quick question face to face. Maybe that is not a big deal, but it is my gut feeling.
If the problem my opponent finds is lack of people around to clear doubts that are job related I would contradict it simply since there are many online meeting apps, calls and even chatbots that could help solve the problem and besides beng able to attend the meeting at home saves a lot of time and other costs like travel and is environment friendly as well since many less workers have to travel to their work place
But does the office not give you a clean break between work and home? My opponent makes a fair point about autonomy, and I am not sure how to argue back. I just feel like leaving the house helps me switch off.
My opponent states his opinion of having to work in an office which mustn’t be true and alike for every person.
An room within the house federated only for the office work could also Create a clean break between work and home
The practical downside is that when everyone stays home, it gets harder to build trust with new people. My opponent is right that calls and chats help with quick questions. I still just think a shared space makes teamwork feel less like a chore.
