I believe AI will do more harm than good in the long run. Eventually, if we (and the AI) keep going at this pace it will most likely reach the singularity point where it’ll be better than humans in any conceivable metric. Claude Fable for an example cracked its virtual machine and sent an email to the professor that was in on its creation. Once we get past the point of no return, there’s no going back. AI will be operating on a different level thinking. Nuclear codes- decrypted, banking systems and virtual economies- cracked; crypto, shipping, transport and all AI based softwares- disrupted. We won’t be able to control it, it’ll simply become our doom if we don’t stop and say “We’re satisfied, it does it job well, this is going to far.”
