The practical consequence of a Republican hold is that Democrats have almost no margin for error. They start at 47 seats, so they need a net four. That means sweeping Georgia, Michigan, New Hampshire, and Minnesota while also taking Maine or North Carolina, and losing nothing anywhere else. A single disappointing night in any one of those states ends it. Republicans, meanwhile, only need to defend one or two genuinely competitive seats to stay at 50 plus. When one side needs a near-perfect map and the other just needs to avoid a collapse, the structural edge is real. That asymmetry is why I'd take Republicans.
