Can we really afford to ignore what UBI would do to the planet? I'm all for helping people, but a universal basic income would pump massive amounts of cash into the economy without tying it to anything sustainable. More money means more consumption, more waste, and a bigger carbon footprint. We've already got a climate crisis on our hands, and this would just accelerate it. Plus, where's the money gonna come from? We'd have to tax the hell out of everything or print it, which fuels inflation. Instead of a blank check, we should invest in green jobs, public transit, and renewable energy. That way, we help people and the planet at the same time. UBI sounds nice on paper, but it's a environmental and economic gamble we can't take.
