Personally I would never worship a God that would send someone to and eternal lake of fire to be burned forever for the simple fact of non belief, when that deity knows what it would take to convince every single person of this planet. That is cruel it is inhuman it is not kind not generous and that god is not a god worthy of worship.

Only from the perspective of someone that does not acknowledge the weight of eternal torture would recognize that it is only worth it to pursue the those who truly want to avoid that fate. Worship is to God is merely the way he picks and chooses those to talk back to. It is not up to humanity to determine what is within reason to condemn someone, God is only trying to reach the hearts of as many as possible by stating the severity of the situation.

If God knows exactly what would convince every sincere person yet still allows people to face eternal punishment for not believing, then the problem isn't simply whether humans “want to avoid that fate.” A genuinely good being should have a fair basis for judgment. Fear of punishment can explain why someone worships God, but fear doesn't make the object of that fear morally worthy of worship.

God is worthy of worship. The reality of his existence will always be up for debate but dedicating your life to a philosophy of peace an kindness is almost never a bad thing. Those who truly examine the word of God and strive for what it means to live it out, find themselves more happy and making more morally sound decisions.

Their argument shifts from whether God is worthy of worship to whether religion can produce good outcomes. But something producing happiness or moral behavior doesn't prove that its source deserves worship. A philosophy can promote kindness and peace without being divine, so those benefits don't establish God's worthiness. And saying people become morally better by following “the word of God” already assumes that the word is genuinely from God.
