felons should have the right to vote because while they did it go again to the law and lost maybe their right to freedom they did not loose all rights they should still have the privilege of voting because going against the law doesn't automatically have their voting right removed

Well yes while in prison and serving their sentence prisoners should be striped of their right to vote , that is their punishment installed by the justice system for disobeying the law , But when their sentence is served a felon should have the right to participate in society like any other person because 1st voting is a civil right note a reward for good behaviour imprisonment is for public protection not a striping of your rights after you leave Second if society tells someone " you served your sentence but we are going to exclude you from an important part of your civic rights " this will make reuntegreration harder in society which is the opposite point if serving time 3rd it gives people incentive if someone looses these rights they may say what's the point now if I lost them permanently and they may go back to committing crimes 4th democracy let's people vote because they are citizens not because they are good people some people have good judgement some people don't some people are dishonest or selfish or ignorant yet they still have the right to vote because that is the philosophy of democracy

You're treating voting as something people earn for obedience not as a civic right which is wrong just for being a citizen someone can vote
