That's already being done in labs, and the results are promising.
You mentioned unknown risks, and okay, fair. But compared to what? Neonicotinoids are already proven to mess up bee brains and pollute waterways. We know those risks. With venom-based pesticides, we can actually design them to break down faster and target only the pest. That's a huge leap forward.
I'd rather take a calculated risk on something that might work than keep using chemicals we know are failing. The status quo isn't safe either.
