Kansas tried exactly what my opponent wants. After passing proof of citizenship, the state blocked over 30,000 eligible voters from registering, and Kris Kobach, its loudest cheerleader, found just a handful of actual noncitizens voting. So that "automatic verification using existing records" my opponent keeps promising? It doesn't exist. Kansas couldn't verify people because states, counties, and the federal government don't share clean data. When the record is missing, the burden lands on the citizen to prove themselves. Free IDs and provisional ballots sound fine in theory, but thousands never voted at all. That's not trust. That's suppression.
