Here's a weird fact: most college sports teams actually lose money instead of making it. So I just don't get how paying athletes would work without cutting other sports. It feels like it would ruin the whole thing, honestly.

Doesn't it seem odd to pay players when many programs already lose money? I guess you make a fair point that they're there to improve and could get a prize instead, and honestly I'm not sure how to argue back. My gut still says paying them would drain everything.
