Islam is not true. I am going to use 3 arguments I like to call - 1. The Nightmare Dilemma, 2. The Islamic Dilemma and 3. The Mother of all Dilemmas. Demonstrating any one of these 3 Dilemmas is sufficient to show Islam is false. Let us come to the first of my arguments - The Nightmare Dilemma. The Nightmare Dilemma is structured as follows: Premise 1: A prophet receiving revelations from Satan should be rejected as a false prophet. Premise 2: Muhammad received revelations from Satan. Conclusion: therefore, Mohammad should be rejected as a false prophet. I do not think I need to spend time on premise 1, as my muslim opponent will agree with me that a true prophet would receive revelations from God while a false prophet would receive revelations from Satan. I turn therefore to my second premise, namely that Muhammad himself received revelations from Satan. According to Sahih Bukhari number 6985, Mohammad said if anyone has a dream he doesnt like, then it is from Satan. According to sahih Bukhari number 3, Mohammad's revelations began with a dream which he didnt like. A spirit, alleged to be jibreel appeared to Muhammad when he was asleep and told him three times to read, and pressed upon him, that he thought it was death. Muhammad awoke, terrified and ran back to his wife in terror. He even developed suicidal tendencies, wanting to throw himself off of a mountain. Suffice to say - this was a dream he did not like. According to Muhammad's own testimony, a dream one doesnt like is from Satan. This is not my criteria, but his. Was Muhammad lying about the criteria? Then he is a false prophet. Was he lying about the dream? Then he is a false prophet. Was he telling the truth about both? Then he is a false prophet. Moving onto the Islamic Dilemma - Premise 1. The Quran claims to confirm the previous scripture, i.e the Torah and gospel. Premise 2. The previous scripture, which contradicts the Quran is either corrupt or preserved. Conclusion 1 - If the previous scripture is corrupt then islam is false for confirming corrupt scripture. Conclusion 2 - If the previous scripture is preserved then islam is false because it contradicts the Quran. Surah 10:94 reads: If you ˹O Prophet˺ are in doubt about ˹these stories˺ that We have revealed to you, then ask those who read the Scripture before you. The truth has certainly come to you from your Lord, so do not be one of those who doubt. Muslims often claim that the previous scriptures were corrupted but the Quran says repeatedly that his word cannot be changed - surah 6:115, 18:27, 6:34, 10:64. For my opponent to claim that the previous scripture has been corrupted, then he must likewise say that Allah lied in these verses. Furthermore, he would be making Allah endorse a corrupt scripture. Either way, Islam is false. Finally, we come to the Mother of all Dilemmas: Premise 1: The Quran has 2 categories of verses: clear and unclear. The unclear verses can only be understood by Allah. Premise 2: the clear verses are the umm al kitab (surah 1), leaving the remaining 113 chapters unclear. Conclusion - the quran cannot be understood except for 1 chapter which is a prayer for guidance! Let's take a closer look. Surah 3:7 says:He is The (One) Who has sent down upon you the Book, whereof are clear signs (i.e. ⊃ ayah = verses) that are the Essence (Literally: the Mother) of the Book, and others cosimilar (Or: ambiguous). So, as for (the ones) in whose hearts is swerving, they ever follow whatever (parts) of it are cosimilar, (inequitably) seeking temptation (to sedition), and (inequitably) seeking its interpretation; and in no way does anyone know its interpretation except Allah. And the ones firmly established in knowledge say, “We have believed in it; all is from the Providence of our Lord.” And in no way does anyone constantly remember except the ones endowed with intellects. Here we see that there are 2 categories of verses that the Quran has: Clear (Arabic is mukhamat) and unclear or ambiguous (Arabic is mutashabihat). It says that the clear verses are the Mother of the book (Arabic Umm al kitab). According to various hadith, these are also called umm al quran as the quran is the book (al kitab) being referred to. The umm al quran is identified in the various hadith as being the first 7 verses of the quran , ie. Surah 1 (al fatihah). That leaves a remaining 113 chapters which are not the Mother of the book as unclear and understood by Allah. I predict that my muslim opponent will appeal to verses of the quran beyond surah 1 as if to say he knows the interpretation when Allah says only he knows. Therefore, by denying Allah's word, he himself will be admitting that Allah, and by extension Mohammad and islam are false. To summarize, Muhammad is a false prophet who received revelation from Satan, a book contradicting the previous scripture the quran endorses, the quran itself being an unintelligible book. Therefore islam is false.
