What happens to the person whose phone dies, whose bank freezes their account, or who can't afford the fees when cash is gone? My opponent will probably sell convenience, and fine, tapping a card is easy. But cash is the only payment method that works without permission from a bank, a network, or a battery. A cashless society turns every glitch, outage, or algorithmic freeze into a locked door. That's not progress; that's making survival depend on private infrastructure. Convenience is nice, but a fallback isn't optional.
