A lot of people seem to think banning Congress from trading stocks would fix corruption. But imagine someone who already knows what bills are coming, they could just tell someone else or trade through a fund instead. I just don't see how a ban really stops that.

Congress banning cannot solve corruption because there is an alternative parties to it. However banning ai can reduce water use as well as there is no current alternative to it which will use water and electricity

That's a fair point from my opponent, and honestly I'm not sure how to argue back. Still, my gut says a ban just pushes the trading somewhere else, like a fund or a relative. So I don't think it really fixes the problem.

Sure, maybe a ban sounds clean, but the practical trouble is it just pushes trades into funds or a relative's name, so nothing really changes except it looks like action. My opponent makes a fair point though, and I admit I am not sure how to argue back on that.
