Take a mass shooter who murders dozens of children. He sits in prison for life, using huge amounts of energy, water, and land, while victims' families serve their own life sentence. My opponent says let Jesus handle it, and I respect the mercy in that. But Paul changed; a remorseless killer who would keep killing is not Paul. Forgiveness doesn't stop a predator. Execution is the only guarantee they never harm again, and it avoids decades of costly incarceration. That's why I'm still for it.
