Isn't it easier to get things done when everyone's actually in the same place? I don't know, I just think offices keep people on track, and you pick things up by being around them. That's kind of my gut feeling.

Well working remotely does have to effect or exclude the level of a companies ability to keep on top of performance if your concern, the same advances in the world which have allowed the ability to work remotely have also then by proxy included the structure to do so. The pandemic is a prime example of an event that made that decision for many people and still continues for a portion of the population still. Science is on the side of a balance in a healthy way. We are aiming ambitiously for homeostasis due to the vagueness of the topic and word "better", therefore I cannot use my gut feeling and must express unprejudiced objectivity when it comes to the idea that being limited to an office in such a complex and fast changing society and with every 12 months the situation is advancing for everyone. Saying it is better than working from home might have been a more difficult point, but because the question is meaning you can go anywhere. I think it's better for the children.

That's a fair point, and I'm not sure how to argue against it. But maybe the real question is what becomes normal. If everyone's mostly remote, the office turns into a rare visit, and that in-person buzz fades. My gut says that's worse.

Yes but this is why remote is better, in time we can modify and have alternatives that still serve these urges we have as humans

Imagine a new hire on a fully remote team just trying to figure out who does what. Sure, your point about flexibility makes sense, and I can't really argue with it. But my gut still says that kind of everyday learning gets lost when nobody's around.
