Here's a fact that gets lost: in the clinical trials, about 1 in 10 people quit because of nausea and vomiting, and up to 40% of the weight they lose is muscle. For someone over 50, that muscle loss means falls, fractures, and hospital stays — all of which are major dementia risk factors themselves. You'd be trading an unproven brain benefit for a proven frailty risk. And the statin analogy doesn't hold. Statins are cheap, decades-proven, and we test cholesterol. We have no test telling us which healthy brains need this, and the only way to find out is pumping everyone full of an expensive drug that makes them sick. That's not prevention, that's roulette.
