Abortion is the intentional killing of an innocent human being. That is the definition of murder. Therefore, abortion is murder, and it must be abolished.
Human life begins at fertilization. At that moment a new organism exists—a distinct human being with its own unique DNA, its own developmental trajectory, and the intrinsic capacity for growth, metabolism, and response to stimuli. Biology does not grant personhood at birth, viability, or sentience; those are arbitrary lines drawn for convenience. The same organism that is protected as a newborn was, moments earlier, the same organism inside the womb. Location and dependency do not erase humanity. If killing that same child outside the womb is murder, killing him or her inside the womb is murder.
Murder is not defined by the size, age, ability, or wantedness of the victim. It is defined by the intentional destruction of an innocent human life. Abortion is precisely that act. The procedure is designed to end the life of the child. Euphemisms—“reproductive healthcare,” “choice,” “termination of pregnancy”—do not change the reality of what is done to the body of a living human organism. The law already recognizes this principle in every other context: we do not permit parents to kill born children because they are dependent, unwanted, or inconvenient. Consistency demands the same protection for the unborn.
Bodily autonomy does not authorize the intentional killing of another human being. No one has a right to use lethal force against an innocent person merely because that person is located inside or dependent upon one’s body. The child is not an aggressor. The child is a human being whose existence is the natural result of human reproduction. Claiming a right to kill that child is not liberty; it is the assertion of power over the weak.
History shows that societies have repeatedly legalized the systematic destruction of human beings while denying their full humanity—whether by race, ethnicity, disability, or stage of development. The abolitionist position simply refuses to participate in that denial any longer. We do not seek regulation, gestational limits, or exceptions that still permit the intentional killing of some human beings. We seek the equal protection of every human being from fertilization onward, without exception for age, size, or circumstance.
The resolution is not a matter of preference or private morality. It is a question of justice. If the unborn are human beings, then abortion is murder. And murder must be abolished.
