if the actual atheletes are getting paid, then so should the college atheletes. they are doing just as much work if not more so because they are younger and have less experience, so it's hard for them. every day they train, not because they want to, but because they have to to win the game. why? because they are young and don't have enough experience

if a college student would have to pay for there own studies, wouldn't it be fair to give them a chance to earn the money they need playing sports? I'm not saying that all college students would need to pay for their studies, but if they did, I feel like that would be fair

whilst you make a fair point about the student fees and smaller sports, I feel as though the smaller sports wouldn't be worth it anyway. imagine if a college student signed up for a small sport and was the only one there. then what? then they just do all that training and it doesn't even really work out because the school can't afford to cater to one person alone. rather focus on the bigger sports where there is a guarantee that the atheletes will sign up, and then give them a reason to sign up aswell by paying them
