You are describing how the ads are...it doesnt talk about the existence of advertisements themselves...make better advertisements, give both sides opportunities..but keep them..astonishingly huge populations right now spend an alarmingly huge amount of time on social media..and deciding on a side to vote is a very important thing and it requires data and what each candidates stand for and in this era, that is much easier done on social media than through other ways

yes, thats how politics work and it assumes the voter is mature enough to understand who is more suited or lying and make a mature decision out of it, this is like telling because a politician might lie on both sides and people might get manipulated, lets cancel voting
no, lets become more mature and see in between the lines to become strong enough to not get manipulated and use these as data to make a rational decision for voting

i think what you are arguing against is specifically carefully crafter personalized microtargetting ads, not political ads themselves...how political ads are right now arent grounds to ban political ads in their entirety, rather regulated how they are allowed

not necessarily, there is always an option to turn off personalized ads, what you are talking about is personalized ads, not ads themselves
if, there is no data taken from me and political ads are just provided an arena to be displayed, i will be seeing both kinds of ads both talking about their own sides
so political ads themselves arent the problem, personalizing them using my data and targetting are the problem
and banning wont solve this by the way, because there is no same honest message even outside the social media, even outside the social media, the opinions of the candidates is going to be totally biased
