The other side acts like every pet is a huge problem, but honestly, most people just have a small dog or a cat in a carrier. They're worried about chaos, but I think we'd figure it out pretty fast. It just seems fair to let them ride along.

Since the term pet, could involve an animal that possibly isn't trained to behave around other people, or being cautious.
This should indicate why " pets " in general shouldn't be allowed.

You're right that some pets might not be trained, and that's a fair concern. But I still think most people would bring well-behaved pets, and we could maybe require leashes or carriers. It just feels like the good outweighs the risk.

" I dont act like every pet is a problem ", and " most people have small pets only " is obviously not true and careless to possibilities.
The 3rd assertion is incorrect, I'm not worried about chaos, however when talking about public places, all and any possibilities should be given attention.

I mean, you’re right that we can’t ignore every possibility. But think of someone with a tiny dog who just needs to get to the vet. If we set clear rules, like carriers or leashes, I still think it’d work out okay.

U cannot claim everyone will bring small happy pets, and irregardless to leashes and collars those only work to an extent.
A owner can hold the dogs leash, but the dog is still able to attack anything within reach.

Isn't it worth trying though, even if some dogs could be a little unpredictable? You make a solid point about leashes not being perfect. I guess I still just feel like most pet owners would be responsible, and that should count for something.

However your claim is not limited to small dogs, as it clearly says " pets ".
Which can involve controled ones, or uncontrollable ones.

Picture someone with a calm, older dog who just wants to ride the bus to the park. You're right that not all pets are like that, and that complicates things. I still think most owners are responsible, so maybe we could start with a trial. Just feels like we'd manage.
