The practical consequence of my position is fewer abortions, and that's the point. My opponent's worry about unsafe abortion is legitimate, but it assumes we ban and then abandon women. We don't have to. Pair restrictions with prenatal care, healthcare coverage, and childcare, and abortion rates drop without a body count. Their grim picture is a policy failure, not a necessary outcome. And legal abortion on demand doesn't erase maternal risk either. If we truly care about life, we reduce abortion and support women, not treat one as the price of the other.
